One Cool Thing — Buyers’ Remorse

When people buy a home, the often feel Buyers’ Remorse

What causes it?

More often than not, it is caused by a lack of understanding and knowledge about the process of buying a home. If the buyer does not know what to expect or feels lost or confused during the process, it would seem clear to me that the agent needs to take time to communicate with his or her buyer.

What should your agent do?
Communicate with the buyers!!!

As an agent, it is incumbent upon me to make sure that my buyers understand the process. Make sure that I anticipate their questions and provide the education needed during the process so that all of their questions are answered as we move forward. We need to make sure to give the buyer the time and flexibility to think about what they are doing and to not rush them into buying the first home that comes available. Show them different homes in different neighborhoods and talk to them about taking the time to spend weekends, evenings, commute times, etc… in the neighborhoods to get a feel for it. Is that where they want to live and raise their family?

Then, take the time to explain the process of looking at homes, making offers, negotiating terms, doing inspections, understanding the escrow process, understanding the loan process,

If your agent is not providing this type of service to you, then you need to find an agent who will put your needs first. Take a look at the picture below and you will see what many buyers felt after they purchased their home. Armed with this information, you may be ready to find the right agent, ask the right questions, and take all the time you need to be comfortable with the process of buying your home.
